WESTMORELAND

Mr. Calvin T. (Skip) Westmoreland, Jr., 19, of 4560 Camelia Lane, Walkertown, died Sunday as a result of an auto accident. He was born November 28, 1960, in Forsyth County to Mr. and Mrs. Calvin T. Westmoreland, Sr. He was a graduate of East Forsyth High School and was presently a student at Forsyth Technical Institute. He was of the Baptist faith. Surviving are his father of Brownsville, Texas; his mother and stepfather, Shirley Jarvis Beshears and Billy H. Beshears; one sister, Miss Wendy L. Westmoreland; two stepbrothers, Michael and Mark Beshears, all of the home; his maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Glenn Jarvis of 401 Ross Street. Funeral arrangements are incomplete. The body is at Vogler's Main Street Chapel.

Westmoreland, Sr. He was a graduate of East Forsyth High School and was presently a student at Forsyth Technical Institute. He was of the Baptist faith. Surviving are his father of Brownsville, Texas; his mother and stepfather, Shirley Jarvis Beshears and Billy H. Beshears; one sister, Miss Wendy L. Westmoreland; two stepbrothers, Michael and Mark Beshears, all of the home; his maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Glenn Jarvis of 401 Ross Street. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Vogler's Main Street Chapel by the Rev. Paul Mullen and the Rev. Jack Flemming. Burial will be in Gardens of Memory.

Forsyth Man Killed by Car

A Walkertown man died early yesterday morning when he was run over by a car on Sedge Garden Road.

The State Highway Patrol reported that Calvin Taylor Westmoreland, 19, of 4560 Camelia Lane, died about 3:45 a.m. Trooper R.D. Woods said Westmoreland apparently was lying in the road when he was hit by a car driven by Julian P. Almaraz of 5145 Sedgebrook Road in Kernersville.

Woods said that no charges were made.

5-Death Accident Pushes Weekend Road Toll to 17 (excerpt)

In other accidents, Calvin Taylor Westmoreland, 19, of 4560 Camelia Lane in Walkertown was killed about 3:45 a.m. yesterday when he was run over by a car on Sedge Garden Road.

The patrol said Westmoreland apparently was lying in the road about three-tenths of a mile east of N.C. 150 when he was hit by a car driven by Julian Thomas Almaraz of 5145 Sedgebrook Lane in Kernersville. No charges were filed, the patrol said.
