Comments: What a great web site!! My sister-in-law told me about this site. Her brother is Robbie Wheeler. I love it and can't seem to get much done looking at it. I have emailed one of my friends and I hope to hear from her soon. I haven't seen anyone in 15 years. We moved to Georgia in 1997. We hope to be at the 25th Reunion!!

Comments: Hello to all my former classmates! It's been so long since I saw or talked to anyone from our high school days. My family still lives around Walkertown and Kernersville, but I moved away when I married. I live in the Sandhills area with my husband and three daughters. I would appreciate hearing from anyone who would like to e-mail me. The telephone may be difficult, as I have teenagers! I enjoyed the web site very much. Please let me know about details about the next reunion in 2004. I would very much like to attend.

Many of you told me of the trials that you have had to face and they gave me the encouragement to keep fighting. I am feeling fine and I am still fighting this cancer. You are all in my prayers and I am looking forward to the 25th reunion.

Comments: We just had our 20th reunion, and a good time was had by all. Thanks for doing such a good job with this site! It helped some alumni find our reunion info since you have the "Class Central" page of all the classes and contact info. A quick poll of attendees showed that they want a 25th. I and the rest of the reunion committee will save our reunion notes for next time. :-)

Comments: Enjoyed seeing all the comments from your class. My brother, Ed, was in your class and is currently stationed in Ohio. He is a Lt. Col. in the Air Force and has been overseas in Germany and Australia until recently. Me, I've been in Oxford the last 20 years. I go watch my son play varsity football on Friday nights and it brings back memories. We've both lost touch with our K'ville roots. Seems so long ago... anyway just wanted to say hi.

Comments: WOW! What a great job Matt has done as webmaster! If you agree, write a note too! The more the better. I wish I knew about the 20th reunion. I will be at the 25th! Looking through the ol' album brings back some great memories, especially of working at McDonald's of K'ville! (My pix is not in the album) For the last 23 years I been a pilot for various companies. For the last 5 years I been jetting the rich and famous all over creation. It has been fun, challenging and certainly not boring. Being a single parent for the last 11 years has made the job especially challenging. Can't wait to see everyone at our 2004 reunion!!

Comments: Donna and Tim were taken away from us at a young age. They were hit and killed by a drunk driver on (Father's Day) June 15, 1980. The drunk driver was finally caught 17 years later and plead guilty to 2nd degree murder. He is still in prison but now is on work release. Donna and Tim were full of life and had planned to be married. Live life today as if there were no tomorrow. We miss you.

[Please note: This entry is from the "Comments" section of an Absent Friends Form submitted for Donna Elaine Fink by Donna's sister. Our classmates Timothy Gene (Tim) Detter and Donna Elaine Fink were engaged when they were killed in a horribly stupid accident only nine days after the first anniversary of our graduation. To the best of my knowledge, they were the first of our class to be lost. Remember! -- Matt Wallace, Class Webmaster]

Comments: Hallo, This is an e-mail from Europe, The Netherlands (Holland). I’m 33 years old, classic DJ from the 80’s and of course I like the music from the 80’s, like the BB&Q Band and of course Curtis Hairston. I was shocked when I read that he died in ’96. All my friends like his music and especially his voice. I would say that this site means a lot for me and I just want to say this. Every year I give a big disco classic 80’s party in a former Discotheque in Holland, name of the city Utrecht. Of course I’m the DJ, DJ Marc. And of course the BB&Q Band's "Dreamer," Curtis Hairston's "I Want You," are my and the public's favourites. I spin the records on the turntable. It’s a party for 850 people, yes big party only classic R&B, Soul, Conway Brothers, Captain Rap, Evelyn Champagne King, etc etc. Look at my site cartouchreunion.nl, you can see the pictures. Curtis will always be on my mind and thanks for this site. Greetings from Marc, DJ Marc

[Please note: This entry is an e-mail sent to the webmaster/class web site; it's good to hear from Curtis's fans. Remember! -- Matt Wallace, Class Webmaster]

Comments: I would like to thank all of you who have remembered me by e-mail, cards, or in your prayers. I have heard from so many of you and I am in the process of responding to you. I just finished one phase of the chemotherapy for the breast cancer and will undergo a stem cell transplant in August followed by 6 months of chemotherapy for the colon cancer. (Each cancer has to be treated differently.) I did not realize that there are so many types of cancer. I would like to pass on some advice to all of you. Listen to what your body is trying to tell you and if you have cancer in your family (anyone, no matter how far back you need to go) please tell your family doctor so they can start certain cancer screening tests that may detect the cancer early (they do not screen for colon cancer until you are in your 50's, I was 40). You all take care and I will keep you all in my prayers too.

Comments: Great job on the website Matt! Hope to see everyone at the next reunion... I've had a few changes here, my retirement didn't last long, I'm now working with Arviq developing several new products for musicians. They should reach market after the patents are approved.

I've pretty much lost track of everyone from NC so if anyone gets bored sometime in the wee hours of the night, I'm usually up, give me a shout via Yahoo messenger; pgmoney or pgmconsulting depending on my mood. I'm also listed on the Autodesk AutoCAD directory at meetnow.autodesk.com for netmeeting calls.

Hope to chat and do some catching up soon...

NOT MUCH DETAILS THOUGH BECAUSE AS YOU ALL KNOW, TIM DOES NOT LIKE PEOPLE TO KNOW WHAT HE IS THINKING OR DOING AT ANY GIVEN TIME. I DO KNOW THIS...THE LAST 2 TIMES HE WAS TO GO SOMEWHERE WITH ME HIS NEW WIFE OVERRULED AND HE DID NOT GO. I WANT TO KNOW WHO TOLD HER HOW MUCH TROUBLE I USED TO GET PEOPLE IN. THAT WAS YEARS AGO, I'VE MATURED NOW, I AM JUST THE QUIET GUY DOWN THE STREET...REALLY. MAYBE TIMS WIFE WILL LET HIM GO NEXT TIME. SEE YOU ALL AT THE REUNION IN 2004. MAYBE WE WILL EVEN GET TO SEE TIM AND HIS NEW BRIDE IN 2004!!! ONE CAN ONLY HOPE!

Comments: Hello fellow classmates! Let me go on record for a couple of things.

First and foremost, Matt Wallace has done an outstanding job as class webmaster, and we can't thank him enough for his time and energy in making it a premier website and for keeping the information as current as possible.

Secondly, I have had conversations with a few regarding Reunion 2004. Might seem a bit early to begin, but trust me, it is not, especially to reserve large enough rooms at popular venues. There is a lot of interest in helping plan for 2004. While a formal committee has not been announced, I will act as interim coordinator and work with Matt to begin getting folks names who are interested in helping and/or leading the effort. Most importantly, everyone can help by finding our classmates, getting the word out that we plan to have a reunion in 2004, and sending them to this website to update their contact information. Please begin helping immediately and thanks in advance.

I look forward to seeing all of you in 2004 and before if the opportunity presents itself! Please feel free to contact either Matt or myself to indicate whether you are interested in assisting. Our contact information is available via this site. Best regards to all!

Comments: Thanks for sending me the links, Matt. As you can see my last name changed when I turned 18 and the adoption came through. I now have 3 wonderful children and a lovely wife, Kelley. I am Vice President of Wayne Trademark Mfg. in High Point and have recently recieved my first patent (several more are to follow!). I ended up going to Guilford College and then working (what fun!). I am sorry to see so many of our classmates have passed on. I have tried for years to find out about reunions, but no luck until you sent me the information. If I can help you do anything on the website let me know. Good to hear from you, Stephen.

Comments: Matt, thank you for the Newsletter. I got married in January 2002. I was saddened to hear of the deaths of some of our classmates. I was diagnosed in Dec 2001 with colon cancer and breast cancer and learned on my wedding day that the cancer had spread to my bones. I would love to hear from all of you at this time in my life. I look back to the days in high school where we really had nothing to worry about and we laughed, played and lived hard. This web site has been great connecting us together. Thanks again and I hope to see you all for the 25th.
